It's speculated that this homestead is one of the oldest in the general area and possibility part of a land grant. However, this has not been proven. The cemetery that the family used is located a short distance from the original home site. It's speculated that Dick Lee is buried there along with his kin. The cemetery is located on a mountain slop and 12-15 graves are marked with field stone. It's common for old grave shafts to collapse due to wooden coffin decay. Shallow graves will normally collapse when walked on, but deep ones hold their ground. One 6' deep grave is collapsed and it's possible that it might have been desecrated by vandals. Then again, maybe this grave was moved or it simply collapsed.
