The presbytery consisted of Rev. John T. Lewis, Rev. S.A. Bryant, Rev. W.C. Boren, and Rev. B.P. Moore. Rev. W. C. Boren was called to be the first pastor of Eastatoee Baptist Church and W. K. Stewart as clerk. Some early members were Chapmans, Chappels, Dodgens, Galloways, Gants, Stansells, and Stewarts. The much loved and respected mountain preacher, W.0. (Billy) Holcombe was pastor many years between 1910 and the 1940's. One of Reverend Billy's sons, Rev. George Holcombe, was pastor of the church in 1950 when "The Great Revival" came to the church, not only affecting the valley, but also the surrounding areas. Having given their lives to the Lord, some converts poured out the "moonshine" from which they made their living. Ninety- three people made a profession of faith and joined the church during this time. In 1958 the church was remodeled, enlarged and turned from facing the road to its present position of parallel to the road. The church was deeply saddened by the death of Rev George Holcombe on July 20, 1967, after many years of his dedicated service. Mr. Wallace Lewis has been the Adult Sunday School Teacher since September 16, 1962. Rev. Wilburn Snyder has been the pastor for the past seven years.
