Restland Cemetery
The Restland Cemetery is located in downtown Bamberg. This cemetery
isn't as well cared for as most I have seen in the area. This survey was
conducted by Lem Lancaster in 1998.

Bamberg, Major William Seaborn
3-6-1820 10-5-1858 The deceased was
in every sense a noble man, a faithful friend , a devoted husband, parent,
brother. His industry, energy and the enterprise gave name to this village
in which his remains repose. A firm believer in the blessed religion of
Christ. He has passed from earth to meet his reward in heaven. This simple
tablet was placed as a feeble expression of her love and esteem by his
bereaved and disconsolate wife.
Bamberg, Henry W. 9-9-1823
died at Savannah, Ga. of pneumonia 2-28-1855 aged 31
yrs. 5 mos 19 days.
Brought here and buried by his beloved brother,
W.S. Bamberg by whom this token of appreciation is erected. Brave, generous
and affectionate Henry as a soldier of the Hammond Guards in the late war
with Mexico. Henry W. Bamberg enjoyed the confidence and affection of his
brother soldiers and the respect and approbation of the commanding officers.
Rest in peace dear brother by the side of your dear George who preceeded
you to his silent solemn mansion of the dead.
Bamberg, George W. 7-25-1825 and
died at Bamberg, SC of Typhus Fever 9-9-1853 aged 27 yrs. 1
mo. 15 days
Over his earthly remains this tablet is laid
as a slight token to deep enduring affection of which his person was regarded
in life. And his memory is cherished in death by his bereaved brother,
W.S. Bamberg.
