This page provides a link to a Gallery of small books provided for your
research. Unlike the CD’s at
DMK Heritage these books are not searchable;
some are in alphabetical order, others are not. All of the books are short
enough that it is economically impractical to convert them to CD; however,
their information is important.
The USF Africana Heritage Project has just posted 270 Freedmen's
Labor Contracts for Berkeley County, South Carolina
The contracts list more than 200 plantations and 5,000 freedpersons, and span the years 1865-1868.
Access to all of the content on Africana Heritage is, and always will be, 100% free.
