Mount Andrews Cemetery
Floydale,
Dillon County, South Carolina
Transcribed June 6, 1999 - Updated June 2006
by Earnestine Gates and Lee Oates

DIRECTIONS:  From Myrtle Beach, South Carolina
Drive North on Hwy 501 through Conway, Aynor, and Galivants Ferry. Turn Right onto Hwy 41 (commonly known as Ariel Crossroads) and follow 41 straight into Floydale, passing straight through Mullins. At the town of Fork Hwy 41 turns toward the East but you will stay going straight. This road becomes Hwy 57. Floydale is located on Hwy 57 between Dillon and Mullins less than 10 miles past The Little Pee Dee State Park.

You will see Mount Andrews Church (a white building) straight ahead of you on your left side. As you approach the church you will come to a sort of crossroads. Turn to the left on Stackhouse Road (the church will be on your right) and go straight, cross the railroad tracks and go to the end of the road. You will come to a sign with arrows pointing left and right and another church. Turn right on Haymount Road and you will see the cemetery on your left hand side. (There is only a few feet between the turn and cemetery.)

(If you are looking at a SCDOT map of South Carolina - look for the town of Floydale in section D9)

Special thank you's for help with this project are due to Lorene Davis, Bobbi Yurkin, and Betty Jackson. All are great friends who spent several long hot hours with Earnestine and I while we visited each site at Mt. Andrews Cemetery. In addition, thank you to Mrs. Helen Lane Carmichael, who provided identification for an unmarked site.
