Death of a Good Woman
On December 30, 1908, our beloved friend and sister, Mrs. Martha Jackson, widow of Charley J. Jackson who died June 29, 1892, passed away. She had been in ill health several months, and the end had not been unexpected. She was about the age of 74 years and leaves a family of ten loving children, all married except two.
Mrs. Jackson has been a faithful and consistent member of Pleasant Grove Church since her girlhood, her husband being a deacon of that church at the time of his death. She has always been devoted to her church, and under the providence of God, loved to see all the children profess Jesus Christ, and unite with the church. (something that cannot always be said). The oldest son, (C. T. Jackson) being now a deacon.
"To him that overcometh will I make a pillow in the temple of God." The funeral services were held in Pleasant Grove church Thursday evening, Dec. 31, after which the body was laid to rest in the Old Church Cemetery amid a large concourse of friends and relatives; thus ends the early scenes of the life of a good woman.
