Death of Young Lady
Miss Jeter Jackson, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. W. Jackson,
died at Highsmith's sanitarium at Fayetteville last Saturday morning. From early
childhood Miss Jackson had suffered from a foreign growth on the scalp, but it was
only recently that she decided to undergo an operation. She was on the operating
table last Saturday and the operation was nearly finished when she suddenly expired.
The remains were brought home Saturday and the internment was made
at Catfish cemetery Sunday afternoon, the funeral services being conducted by
Rev. F.O. S. Curtis, assisted by Rev. J. I. Allen.
Miss Jackson was a consistent member of the Baptist church and a
young lady of many excellent traits of character. The family have the sympathy of
many friends in their bereavement.
Submitted by David Jackson, Sept 2004.
NOTE: Miss. Jeter Jackson is really Miss Belle Jetta Jackson, daughter
of Sidney Warren Jackson and Mary Alice Cordelia Hayes.
