Austin Hamilton

Another substantial citizen has fallen a victim to the dread disease in the death of Austin Hamilton, which occurred Wednesday night. Mr. Hamilton was a fine specimen of the physical man and enjoyed most excellent health until seized with the terrible malady to which he succumbed in a few days. Just a week previous to his death Mr. Hamilton was called upon to mourn the death of his brother W. W. Hamilton who passed away in a few days after he was prostrated. All of Mr. W. W. Hamilton's family were down with the disease when he died and his brother overtaxed himself administering in their hour of double affliction. A few days after his brother's death he was taken ill. He was promptly removed to the hospital where he received the best of physical attention and the most careful nursing, but the progress of the disease could not be stayed and Wednesday he gave up the fight.

Mr. Hamilton was a substantial farmer and citizen. He was a very quiet unobtrusive man who attended strictly to his own affairs and lived in peace and harmony with all who knew him. He owned several farms near town which he worked with good judgment and was getting ahead in he world when the final summons came.

The interment was made at the Hamilton burying ground Thursday afternoon, the services being conducted by Dr. W. B. Duncan.

Mr. Hamilton leaves a wife and two small children and host of friends to mourn his death.
