Martha C. JACKSON

Mrs. Martha C. Jackson, widow of the late Levi Jackson, gallant
Confederate veteran, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. M. L. Turbeville in East
Dillon, Thursday, April 10.
Mrs. Jackson was born in old Marion county in 1851 and was 78 years
of age. She was of a kindly charitable disposition and had friends all over the
county who regret her passing.
Mrs. Jackson was a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist church and
the funeral service were conducted there on Friday by Rev. W. C. Wallace. Surviving
her are her children, Mrs. Turberville and W. C. Dove of Dillon, and R. P. Dove of
Rowland, a number of grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
