Death of Mrs. Nettie Jackson
Mrs. Nettie Jackson, wife of Mr. E. T. Jackson, died at the
Florence Infirmary Friday morning. Mrs. Jackson had been seriously ill for
several days with an infection of the throat. She was taken to the infirmary
for treatment and for several days her condition was so much improved that
strong hopes were entertained for her recovery. But the day before her
death she took a turn for the worse and despite the efforts of skilled
physicians she passed away.
Befor her marriage Mrs. Jackson was a Miss Hamilton, being
a daughter of Mr. W. W. Hamilton, Sr. who lives near town. She was 48 years
of age and had spent hte portion of her life in Dillon and vicinity. In
addition to her father and mother and several brothers and sisters, she
is survived by the following sons and daughters: W. A. Jackson of Seattle,
Wash.; S.S. Jackson of Florence; R.M. Jackson of Dunbar; Dewey, Hoyt,
Clarence and Misses Pat, Blanche and Beulah Jackson of Dillon.
Mrs. Jackson was a good Christian woman and she will be
missed not only in the community but also in her home where she was a
devoted wife and a kind and affectionate mother.
She was laid away at Mt. Holly Sunday afternoon at
4 o'clock, the services being conducted by Rev. Joel I. Allen.
