Obituary from the Southern Christian Advocate, April 6, 1911 issue, Vol 74 #42 pg 15 col 2
from the Sandor Teszler Library of Wofford College:

LANE----On March 2, 1910, Sister Addie Lane passed from a long spell of sickness into that rest in the great beyond. For months she fought a losing battle. Always cheerful, patient, resigned, she was willing and ready to stay or go, and could say, "Thy will be done." She was conscious of her condition, and could speak of death with that ease and confidence of one who feels the firm grasp of the Pilot's hand as He stands ready to cross the river. She became the wife of Stephen D Lane on February 3, 1897. To them only one child, a girl was born, who died in infancy. When about 10 years of age she joined the Methodist Church at this place, and I believe she tried to be a true member and Christian as long as she lived. Besides her husband, she left one brother, Wm M Proctor, and one sister, Mrs Kittie Proctor Lester, to mourn her loss. Her other brother, Oliver, died years ago. Several years before her death, she adopted a little girl, Myrtle, to whom she was a mother in all that such love may mean. Sister Lane was a member of the Women's Foreign Missionary and Parsonage Aid Societies, until her death, and often expressed the greatest regret that she could not attend during the last year or two of her life. I feel sure that now she can take part in God's work in the home above.
