Humbert Carol Hayes

Mr. Humbert Carol Hayes, 70, died Wednesday, December 31, 2003, at Carolinas Hospital System after an illness. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Friday, January 2, 2004, at Richardson Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Devotion Gardens.

Mr. Hayes was born in Dillon, a son of the late Humbert Hayes and Leila McDowell Hayes. He was also predeceased by two brothers, Clyde Hayes and Lafon Hayes and a sister, Annie Ruth Owens. Mr. Hayes was retired from Spring Service of Florence. He also served for the Volunteer Fire and Rescue Squads.

Mr. Hayes is survived by his wife, Marie Lane Hayes of Florence; three brothers, Tommy Hayes and his wife, Wanda, of Dahlonega, Ga., Paul Hayes and his wife, Barbara Jean, of Little Rock, and Walter Hayes of Dillon; and two sisters, Shirley Wilkerson and her husband, Richard, of Dillon and Joanne Hayes of Dillon.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
