Vallie Herring Huggins, 91, died Saturday, March 3, 2001 in St Eugene Medical Center.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 5 in Dillon Second Baptist Church with burial in Greenlawn Cemetery directed by Cooper Funeral Home.

Born in Dillon County, May 9, 1909, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Herring and Mary Hartley Huggins. She was a homemaker and a member of Dillon Second Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Evelyn Hamilton of Dillon; sons, Malcolm Huggins of Rockingham, N.C., Billy Huggins of Orangeburg, SC, and Jerry Huggins of Dillon; brother, Carson Huggins of Michigan; 8 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren.
