Mendel Rast, president of Evergreen Cemetery

Dillon---Mendel B Rast, 75, died Saturday.

Born in Calhoun County, he was a son of the late Luther M and Pearl Whetstone Rast. An oil distributor for Dillon County, he was retired owner of Dillon Services Company. He was president of Evergreen Perpetual Cemetery, a past member of Dillon Kiwanis Club and a member of Mackey Lodge 77 AFM and Main Street Methodist Church.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs Sue H Rast; a daughter, Mrs Meta Jean R Wasson of Fort Mill; a son, Mendel W Rast of Marietta, Ga.; sisters, Mrs Blondine Clary of Denmark, Miss Bessie Rast of Waynesville, NC., and Mrs Sallie Knotts of Bamberg; brothers, H W Rast of Cayce and John L Rast of Dillon.

Services will be held at 3pm Tuesday at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
