Gilbert B Rising

Gilbert B Rising, 80, of Whiteville Road, Shallotte, died Thursday, September 20, 2001 at his residence.

Mr Rising was born August 17, 1921, in Dillon, son of the late Wilbur and Magnolia B Rising. He was a US Army veteran.

Mr Rising is survived by his wife of 56 years, Pearl Jackson Rising; three sons, Gilbert Rising, Jr and wife Shirl of Hope Mills, NC., Kenneth Rising and wife Barbara of Ocean Isle, NC., Randy Rising and wife Trina of Nakima; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted Saturday, September 22, 2001 in Old Shallotte Baptist Church with Rev Larry Shreve and Rev Jack Land officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.
