S.C. Know all men by these presents
that I, JOHN VIVIAN, of George Town Craven County in the province of
South Carolina for and in consideration of the sum of 52 pounds of
good and lawful current money of South Carolina to me in hand well and
truly paid by MICAJAH WILLIAMS at or before the sealing and
delivery of these presents the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge
and myself therewith fully satisfied well contented and paid have
bargained and sold and by these presents in plain and open market do
bargain and sell unto the said MICAJAH WILLIAMS and to his heirs
and assigns one eight day clock and its furniture, four chairs, one
small table, three brass candlesticks and two iron pots to have and to
hold the said clock four chairs table candlesticks and iron pots unto
the said MICAJAH WILLIAMS and to his heirs and assigns forever upon
trust nevertheless and to and for the uses intents and purposes herein
after mentioned and set forth, that is to say to and for the only sole
and separate use and benefit and behoof of MARY VIVIAN and to the sole
behoof of such person or persons as she may sell devise bequeath or
give bestow and deliver the same and to & for no other use
intent or purpose whatsoever and I the said JOHN VIVIAN for myself my
heirs executors and admor. the said bargained premises &
every part of them with their appurtenances unto him the said MICAJAH
WILLIAMS and to his heirs and assigns for the uses and purposes
before mentioned shall and will warrant and forever defend by these
presents In witness whereof I the said JOHN VIVIAN have hereunto set
my hand and seal this twentieth (20th) day of February in the year of
our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy two (1772) and in the
twelth year of the reign of our soverign Lord George the third by the
grace of God of Great Brittain France & Ireland King Defender of
the Faith & so forth.
