In the Name of God Amen
I Thomas Smith of the State and parish aforesaid
Being week of body but in my Nateul Sences and of purfect memery and Calling
to Mind the Mortality of the body and knowing It is appointed to all men
once to die - I for the better Secoreing my Temprel Concerns and my Severl
goods and Chatles I therefore leve this my Last will in form and Maner
following -
Item the first I Recommend my Soul to God who gave it and my body To be
Bured in a Christan Like Maner - Item the Second I would That all my free
and Just Debts be paid Item the third I would That my son William Smith, and
my Daughter Elizabeth Beaty and my Son in Law John Woodward be paid out of
my Severl Good and Chatels one Shilling Sterlen in nine monthes after my
Death each if called for Item the forth I would that my well Beloved Wife
Mary Smith have as her actual right and property one third part of all and
singular my goods Chatels Lands tenements what so ever, Item the fifth I
would that the Remaining Part of my Several goods Chatels Lands Tennements
What-so Ever be eculy Divided Between my three Dear Small Children Namely my
Daughter Martha Smith and Hester Smith and John Piot Smith Item the Sixt I
would Becach my Dr Wife as fear as might Be fore her good and the good and
Welfare of my Dr Children to Keep them and my lectel property all together
and Rase and Bring them up in the love and Fear of a good and gracious God
as that I May meet them and Her in that good world whare wel part no more
Item the Seventh I would that my Dr Wife together with my friend George
Sefsions Be Acten Exectriex and Exetor to this my Last will, the word Soul
in the Seventh Line interlind Lind befor assignd - This my Last will maid
and afeignd this Sixteenth day of September in the Year of our Lord One
