Sacred/to the memory of/John Trusdel/a native of County Down Ireland/and resident of this
neighborhood/For Eighty Years/Born the 14th of March 1769/Died the 16th January 1854./His
Parents were Presbyterians/and he always held/to that Persuasion
Sacred/to the memory of Nancy/widow of John/Trusdel/and daughter of/John McDonald/Born in
Richmond County, N.C./the 22nd August 1780/Married to John Trusdel/the 1st June 1797/and died
the 11th August 1851.
In memory of/the infant son of/Dr. W.C. and M.J. Cauthen/Born Oct 31st 1834 and died the same
day
In memory/of/Elvira J. Twitty/daughter of Thomas & Vivian Cauthen/Who departed this life/
The 24th October 1851/at the age of twenty three/years, 9 months and 5 days.
In memory/of/Mrs. Nancy Cauthen/wife of/Thomas Cauthen sen/Born Dec. 1787/and died March
3rd 1849/She was a consistent member of the M.E. Church/for upwards of 30 years/Distinguished
for her/many virtues and pious deportment/Her path was peaceful/"Far from this world of constant
strife/She's present with the Lord/The labor of her married life/closed in a large reward".
In memory/of/Miss Cynthia Cauthen/Daughter of/Thomas and Nancy Cauthen/Born Aug. 25th 1818/
and died/about the year 1832/"The storm that wreaks the wintry sky/no more disturbs thy deep
respose/Then summer evening's harvest signs/That shuts the rose" |
