BIRDSONG and LEE
I can volunteer to lookups in Spartanburg with
several books. ... I also have a published "Five generations of American
BIRDSONG Ancestry from the Colonial Period through the War Between the
States" by Dean Birdsong (these are mainly in Union County so might belong
on their page). ... Let me know if I can help. Plus- a cousin is getting
a LEE genealogy ready to print and I have a copy to proof and help add to,
so I can check that also. Contact:
Page Lee
BOBO and Allied Families

BOBO, DODD, SEXTON & TAYLOR Families
I've been researching the
SEXTON family of Spartanburg and later Union Co., SC for several years
now. I have some 3000 descendants of Thomas SEXTON who died shortly aft
1787 in Spartanburg Co., SC. Many of them left for other parts of the
country however several families remained in the area at least into the
20th century. Some of the other family names that intermarry with SEXTONs
are BOBO, DODD, and TAYLOR. Most of what I have concerns James SEXTON who
moved from Spartanburg to Gwinnett Co., GA in the 1820's (about 2/3 of the
database). Most of the remainder are descendants of William SEXTON (James'
brother) who remained in Spartanburg until his death in the 1840's. I'd
like to share this this information or lookup any of the above famlies. Jim Sexton.
The FOSTER Family
I have researched the Foster
family for many years and have a large database. I will be glad to help
other Foster researchers, if possible. Dr. B.G. Foster 2130 Santa Fe
Trail, Tyler, TX 75703

SHIELDS Memorial Cemetery
The "SHIELDS Memorial Cemetery" is in
Spartanburg County, SC just off of Hwy 11 in the northern part of the
county near Parris Bridge Road. I have quite a few details available on
it, but briefly it was the site of a Methodist church (Methodist Episcopal
Church South) in the late 1800's. My wife's 2nd-great-grandfather donated
the land for the church to be built on and he is buried there along with
his first wife who my wife descended from. Their names are Thomas A.
Shields and Sarah (Patterson) Shields. I'll be glad to help anyone that
wants to contact me. Contact: Steve
Williams . My genealogy page is at Steve
Williams's Genealogy Page
