Moore The State of South Carolina
Deed
September 24, 1797
Know all
men by these presents that I Jason Moore Senr. Of Spartanburgh
County in the State aforesaid in the consideration of forty
dollars to me paid by James Moore of said County in the
State aforesaid, have bargained granted, sold &
Released, and by these presents do grant bargain sell
& release unto the said James Moore all that tract
or parcel of land, containing seventy-two acres, situate in
the County aforesaid on both sides of Wards Creek waters of Tygar
River, bounded by lines running North and West on Thomas
Moores Lands, west of Charles Moores, Sr. on William
Fords, the other sides of Jason Moores land. Together
with all and singular the rights member _____ and
appurtenances to the said premises belonging or in
anywhere incident for appertaining To have and to Hold, all and
singular the premises before mentioned unto the said James
Moore his heirs and assigns forever, and I do hereby
bind myself my heirs Executors and Administrators to
warrant & forever Defend all and Singular the said
premises unto the said James Moore his heirs and Assigns
against my self and my heirs, and every person whosoever
lawfully claiming or to claim the same on any part thereof.
Witness my
hand & Seal this 12th day of September, 1796 and in
the twenty first years of the Independence of the United
States of America.

Personally came William Otts before me and being duly sworn
as Law Directs, upon Oath saith that he saw the within
Named Jason Moore, Sign Seal and Deliver the within Deed
to the winthin named James Moore, and that he also saw
John Otts and Samuel Otts subscribe as witnesses with
himself, Sworn and Subscribed the 8th day of
October 1796.
