beginning in 1785 (formation from Ninety-Six District ..prs) and
U.S. Census returns for 1790, which this (Dr. Landrum) writer
has procured from the Census Office in Washington, DC. we readily
see that the early settlers of Spartanburg Co., were composed for
the most part, of the following familiar family names:
