REGARDING MEMORIAL TO CONFEDERATE
WOMEN
MRS.
HARRIET P. LYNCH, of the Cheraw Chapter, U.D.C., sends the
'Veteran' a brilliant article on the subject of the form that the
memorial to Southern women should take. She says that the women
who bravely suffered in the sixties would never have selected a
monument of stone or bronze to be raised in their honor; that they
would have chosen instead a living monument. MRS. LYNCH eloquently
advocates the building of a college or colleges for the education
of Southern children.
