SALUDA COUNTY
VETERANS
Three among the best of Saluda
County, S.C. Confederates passed away during 1906. All three died
of heart disease.
JAMES H. WATSON
passed over in June. He made a brave soldier, as well as a good
citizen afterwards.
JAMES B. SUDDATH died in
August. He enlisted at the beginning of the war; and , though
disabled by a wound in the arm, he served faithfully to the
end.
JAMES A. MERRITT answered
the summons in October, at the age of seventy-three
years.
Thus one by one they
leave us, the brave boys of the South.

{ Many of these Veterans are
not all from Spartanburg, but they are from the Upstate and we
have many connections along the way, and we want to honor them all
}.
