compiling a list of "Look-up Volunteers" and what expertise they are
in.
The
USGenWeb Project We also need

SCGenWeb Archives
Data contributed by
South Carolina researchers, including Census Records, ship
lists, maps, deeds, Wills, Bible records, marriages...and so
much more. |
An effort is
underway to make even more on-line data available FREE to
researchers. Your data can help enhance this project. In
order for the SCGenWeb Archives to match and surpass the
holdings of other states, your help is needed. When you survey
a cemetery, transcribe a will, a deed, a letter, or any other
non-copyrighted document, please consider donating a text copy
via e-mail to the SCGenWeb archives for the county as well as
to the local genealogical society. The more that we share our
information, the more that we will all learn about our
ancestors. If you have any data you are willing to share,
please contact the SCGenWeb Archives
Manager. |
If you can offer your resources and
talent to help another "Rooter", please consider
volunteering!
***** USGenWeb's Official Policy on
Copyrighted Material *****USGenWeb will not tolerate any
copyright violations. Lookup requests should be limited to one name,
or perhaps two if it is a married couple. Information given will be
minimal, for example, if it is a cemetery lookup, the information
will be the name of the cemetery and dates on the headstone. Please
do not ask for "everyone with X surname" or an entire family group,
or for hardcopies to be mailed; the volunteers have been asked not
to comply with such requests.
Our lookups will extend to searching the book to determine if the
book would be helpful to you in your research. Should the book
prove useful, we can provide the authors address and ordering
information.
The USGenWeb Project will endeavor to get a WRITTEN statement
from each copyright holder which stipulates which books may be used
for lookups. |
