WILEY YOUNG WATKINS
Wiley Young Watkins died at his home in Sullivan township,
Laurens, S.C., on the 25th of January, 1928. He was too
young for Confederate army service and was sent with the
State troops to the South Carolina coast, for military
service, in which he served until the surrender. He was a
member of the Baptist Church, for many years. He delighted in
attending all the nearby meetings of the Confederate veterans. He
is survived by only three old soldiers of the sixties in our
township.
