Jacobs, Annie R.: It is only a few weeks since, we were called
upon to record the death, from an injury received at the Railroad, of the
eldest son of our friend, the Rev. Ferdinand Jacobs, of Charleston.
We refer to the death of his beloved wife, Annie R., which took place on
Friday evening, the tenth of this month, in the 36th year of her life. The
following tribute appears in the Southern Presbyterian(Issue of October 23,
1856) and Mrs. Jacobs was the eldest daughter of the late Genl. James W.
Ripley, of Maine; and a great-grand-daughter of President Wheelock, the founder
of Dartmouth College

with the church of Bethesda. She was married December 29th, 1835, to James
M. Stringfellow. Two lovely children, the fruit of this marriage, died in
infancy, and left her childless.
