Am looking for a marriage of a Francis Brock (c1760 - Oct 1820) to
Martha "Patsy" Ray about 1782. They lived Surry Co. NC about 1784 and

earlier. Francis Brock was probably the son of an Elias Brock, but there were
several about the same time period, and we have been unable to separate
them. The Elias who d. 1795 in Union Co. SC could be father or
brother. Other brothers were probably Charles, certainly Richard and
Evan Brock - all on record in Union Co. Charles died Union Co. SC. Richard and Evan went to Kentucky. Evan died there. Richard and Francis went on to Ohio and then to Indiana. Thanks for all your work posting marriages to the web. It is wonderful to do some of this research at home!

HARRIS
What happened York County in 1838? In reading Mary Letitia Strong Chalmer's book about the Harris family of North and South Carolina, I found unexplained deaths for William McKEE who "was killed July 17, 1838", and James Wallace HARRIS who "was killed July 20, 1838"--3 days apart. Both lived in York County and were descendants of John and Eleanor Reynolds HARRIS. Unfortunately, I live out of state, so I have only newspapers on microfilm for resources, and
those have not had anything about it. PS. Louise Pettus doesn't know what happened either.

My mother says this family is descended from Henry Howser of HOWSER HOUSE on the Kings Mountain National Battlefield Park, but I have not connected to Henry. KUYKENDALL
I am looking for any information of my ancestors, JONATHAN KUYKENDALL father of ANNA KUYKENDALL
(born 1799 in York Co, SC. died 1850). Anna married abt 1826 to ABNER CARROLL (born York Co.SC, Oct 3, 1798). I know that they had least two children born in York Co, SC -- Sarah E. Carroll who married, Nelson Tarver and, my ancestor, ABNER MINOR CARROLL. I've never been able to find much on Anna's family and would love to know who her mother was and more about the KUYKENDALL's.
Abner CARROLL left SC and moved to Navarro Co. Texas but it seems the route to Texas took them through TN and MS.
