Georgetown County Records |

| All of Horry, Georgetown, Williamsburg and Marion counties were called Georgetown District prior to 1800 and records from 1785 until the formation of the individual counties were kept in Georgetown. Unfortunately, during the Civil War, these records were sent to Cheraw for safekeeping and were burned. Therefore, we have very few records for the period 1785-1864. |
