Henry Truesdel, son of James and Rebecca [_________], b. near Flat Rock [twn], Kershaw County, S.C. @ 1810, 
d. Alabama 1 Nov 1857, buried Flat Rock Cemetery; m. Flat Rock, S.C. @ 1830 - Drucilla Cauthen, 
b. Heath Springs, S.C. 25 Oct 1812, d. Westville, S.C. 24 Aug 1887.  On marriage they lived in Lancaster 
County, owning one slave but later moved to Camden [twn], Kershaw County [Census] which became their final 
home.  He was a well-to-do farmer.  His death occurred in Alabama while on an exploratory trip to * * * .  
Shortly before Drucilla's death she had the remains reinterred in Hanging Rock Cemetery [Rev. Neil E. Truesdale].  
Drucilla, the widow, survived her husband for three decades.  She was exceedingly capable and energetic, 
becoming the matriarch of the family.  Her home, across the river from Camden, was revisited in 1935 by a 
grandson, Bailey Mahaffey, and described as an extensive three storied building, then somewhat run-down.  
Five of her sons participated in and survived the Civil War.  In 1880 she was living in Flat Rock [twn], 
her daughter Susan and the family of her youngest son, Lewis Marion, living with her [Census].

b. S.C. @ 1820.  He was a farmer living in Pleasant Hill [twn], Lancaster County, S.C. [Census].  After 
1870 the family moved to Mississippi by covered wagon, a six weeks trip [Rev. R.T. Truesdale].  Both died 
in Montgomery County, Miss. where they had settled [Miss Gussie Truesdel].  Children [Miss Gussie] born
